Background

With a desire to deliver a better customer experience for patrons visiting Sydney Dragway, the facility upgraded their main entrance for large scale events. 

Sydney Dragway, a premier motorsport venue based in Eastern Creek, New South Wales, is home to some of the states largest and most popular motor sporting events. Since opening it’s doors in 2004, the venue has grown into one of the best motorsporting facilities in the country. The multi-million dollar purpose built facility, is purpose-built to handle the thills of high-octane motorsport and major outdoor events in a picturesque, atmospheric setting.

Solution

When Sydney Dragway was researching the ideal solution for their needs, they were impressed by the systems installed by Gunnebo Entrance Control at Perth Motorplex in Perth Western Australia. Perth Motorplex conveyed to Sydney Dragway their satisfaction with the solution installed at their venue. This gave Sydney Dragway the confidence to work with Gunnebo Entrance Control.

After a detailed analysis of the environement and potential usage, the optimum solution was confirmed to be a row of four SlimStile EV TurnStiles. These TriArm Turnstiles provide Sydney Dragway with a compact, cost-effective gate that deliver a smooth transition and high throughput of people. In short, the perfect gate for the entrance to their venue.

Along with the new entrance gates, Sydney Dragway also chose to implement the one-stop admission control system QuikScan. Produced by Gunnebo Entrance Control, this is a highly flexible admission control solution that can be tailored to suit exacting requirements for easy management of visitors. QuikScan integrates with systems used by ticketing companies, resulting in quick and smooth gate control.

Results

The installation of the four SpeedStile EV Tri Arm TurnStiles has made entry into the venue for patrons attending large events a much more streamlined and advanced process. Staffing levels and costs through operating entrance systems has also been reduced. Now, Sydney Dragway can rely on a smaller staff presence without impacting the visitor experience.

Alongside their new secure entrance gates, integrating QuikScan has provided the venue with an elevated level of ticketing security. Now they have visibility on passage during events and increased speed of authorisation.
