Gunnebo Entrance Control has launched RotaSec3, a full-height turnstile engineered to deliver high levels of physical security, controlled bi-directional access and enhanced user safety in a range of demanding environments.
RotaSec3 from a global leader in entrance control solutions is designed for bespoke settings where secure perimeter control is critical, offering a strong physical barrier combined with intelligent features to prevent unauthorised access.
The turnstile allows controlled passage in both directions and uses clear LED way pictograms to indicate lane status, ensuring users can move through securely and intuitively.
“We’ve developed RotaSec3 to offer maximum reliability and protection for sites that require physical, full-height security without compromising on user experience,” said Mike Lindley, Global Product Manager at Gunnebo Entrance Control. “With the combination of flexible integration, customisation options and our emphasis on mechanical precision, RotaSec3 sets a new benchmark in entrance control.”
One of the key features of the RotaSec3 is its Improper Transit Control (ITC) function, which raises an alarm if a user authorises access but fails to complete passage, helping to identify and deter potential misuse.
The unit also prevents reverse rotation during transit, supporting strict one-way entrance control requirements. Automatic self-centring ensures that after each use, the rotor returns to and locks in the secure home position, maintaining a constant physical barrier.
For additional adaptability, customers can specify a canopy, a damped head mechanism for smooth operation, and a heating kit for installations in colder climates, allowing continued function in temperatures as low as -10°C.
RotaSec3 includes several important safety enhancements. An anti-heel safety rubber is integrated into the interlocking rotor to reduce the risk of injury, and the anti-pinching construction design improves safety during high-throughput operation.
In the event of a power failure, the standard fail-safe configuration allows the rotor to rotate freely, while a fail-lock version is available upon request for installations where locked status must be maintained.
“RotaSec3 has been designed to meet the practical demands of sites where secure, reliable, and safe access control is essential,” adds Mike. “It reflects direct input from our customers and partners, combining robust construction with the flexibility to adapt to different architectural and environmental requirements. With options for stainless steel or powder-coated finishes in RAL colours, and features such as integrated passage lighting, RotaSec3 delivers both performance and a futureproof quality user experience.”
Designed to meet the security and operational demands of sectors such as critical infrastructure, logistics, and manufacturing, RotaSec3 balances physical robustness with a refined and user-conscious design.
